The author's mission with 'Madilu,' meaning 'lap,' was to preserve and lovingly pass on, North Karnataka's traditional post-pregnancy care methods which have been handed down through generations of women. The book meticulously documents time-tested procedures, the art of loving care and preparing nourishing meals, and remedies for minor pregnancy-related discomforts, alongside traditional ceremonies and folk songs sung for both newborns and mothers.

For the graphic, We utilised the spiral form, a symbol of nature's growth, to depict a woman with a child. By repeating this image, we convey the concept of wisdom handed down from one generation of women to the next.
