Environmental graphics and Signage

Design of a cohesive navigation system in the Venkatappa art gallery that guides visitors from entry points to galleries, exhibits, amenities, and exits.

At Venkatappa Art Gallery, the signage system is conceived as an extension of the architecture rather than an applied layer. Vertical forms echo the rhythm of the building’s structural elements, while refined typography, folded planes, and a restrained colour palette work together to establish a distinct visual language. These components create continuity between walls, circulation paths, and interpretive elements, allowing spatial communication to feel integrated and intentional. The result is a signage design that functions not only as guidance, but as a quiet, enduring expression of the gallery’s evolving identity—bridging its past, present, and future within the built environment.
